Experience

For the past 12 years I have taught Life Skills Support at a local, public Junior High school. We focused on functional math, reading, social studies, science and prevocational training skills. We also participated in an Inclusion program for 8 years in both Social Studies and Science. Teaching style

I like providing a wide range of activity types for my students to utilize when learning and practicing skills. We have worked with tactile, paper-based, and digital activities. My students have always enjoyed participating in different interactive lessons and activities in all of their subjects. Differentiation is also key for student success!

Awards & shining teacher moments

Honestly, I love watching my students take strides in becoming more independent young adults!

My own education history

I originally went to art school where I obtained my BFA in Photography and my Art teaching certificate. I went back to Grad School for my masters in Special Education.

Additional biographical information

I have two rescue cats, one of whom is deaf and two rescue dogs who constantly want to snuggle.
