About the store
I am a fun-loving fifth grade teacher at a Title I school outside of Baltimore, Maryland. This year will be my third year teaching and my second year teaching fifth grade. I am especially interested in designing activities that are accessible to students of all ability levels, since my classroom is fully inclusive. I will be pursuing my Masters Degree in Leadership in Special Education Exceptionalities in the near future!

iPhone Text Messages- Drawing Conclusions and Making Inferences
This download includes six separate iPhone text message conversations that is an excellent motivation for an intermediate lesson on drawing conclusions. Students use the conversations to draw conclusions and make inferences about the two people who are text messaging each other. This would also make an excellent guiding reading center activity.

Winter Olympics Athletes and Angles Activity
This 4th grade Common Core-aligned activity includes a blank and modified graphic organizer to assist students in classifying angles, estimating angle measurements, explaining their reasoning and measuring angles with a protractor using 16 real-life examples. The modified graphic organizer supports students by providing them with choices for classifying, a pre-written degree symbol and a sentence starter for their explanation. The cards could be used separately to facilitate a discussion as well

Types of Propaganda Flipbook and Assessment
This download includes an engaging flipbook that explains five main types of propaganda to be used in connection with a text focused on Westward Expansion or a similar topic. A matching assessment is included, as well as a performance task that requires students to make their own example of propaganda.

Twelve Days of Christmas Math Activity
This download includes the lyrics to the "Twelve Days of Christmas" and a problem-solving prompt that challenges students to calculate the cost of giving someone the twelve days of Christmas as a gift. A two-page gift catalog and two charts for student work are also included. An answer key is provided for the teacher.
My students enjoyed this challenge which put their multiplication skills to work! Happy Holidays!

Teaching style
I enjoy incorporating technology, music, social media and topics that engage my students to teach reading strategies and math. Connecting topics to life skills is essential for my students who sometimes have difficulty staying motivated as a result of influences outside of school.

-I am a DOG LOVER (but advocate for all animals).
-I am font obsessed... because my 5th graders completely agree
that all of our assignments should be aesthetically pleasing.
-I am a triplet and have one other sister who is a teacher.
-I am an aspiring runner, *ahem* key word: aspiring.
-I am a self-admitted iced tea addict.
-I will one day have a blog, when I am better at balancing being a new teacher and the rest of my life.
-I believe that one of the best things that I can teach my students is to never take themselves too seriously.
