Students running away from teachers, out of classrooms, and even towards or out of exit doors has been an increasing concern for safety and danger for elementary students. There are many (underlining) reasons for this behavior as well as tools and strategies to help teach expectations and appropriate behavior. But 1 tool that can be used for many, of not all, is an Individual Safety Plan. Especially when student are not currently on any educational plan such as a 504 or IEP as those take time
Tickets for school counselors, teachers, administration, and other staff to use as an incentive for being kind. Edit it for other things such as "Caught You Being Good", "Caught You Making Good Choices", etc. This is a good way to give out a ticket and then have portion left to remind you who you gave it out to. Students use their portion as an entry to party, celebration, or to get a reward.
An easy form that both School Counselors and teachers can use together to sign up for classroom visits. I use this as a google form for teachers to sign up. This form can be printed and placed in office area for sign up. Simply make a copy of the form and make it your own.
