MATH Division - Interpreting the Remainder 11x17 Poster/Anchor Chart

Created by

Even students who are able to divide accurately often struggle when presented with a story problem in which the remainder must be considered. Display this poster as a reference for students as they work to interpret the remainders in various contexts. This poster is an excellent resource to be used all year long. Multiple uses for this product. Formatted to print as an 11X17 poster (I printed mine at a local print shop for a very reasonable price), it is colorful, attractive and visible from

STEM Solar System Size of the Planets (scale) Measuring Using an "Earth Ruler"

Created by
iTeachSTEM
This activity provides students with an opportunity to develop a 2-dimensional model of the eight major planets. Students will use Earth as the “unit” to approximate the diameters of the other planets, ultimately developing their own scale model (accurate for size but not for distance). Upon completion, students will have a better appreciation of the sizes of the planets in relation to one another. In addition, students will apply their math skills to calculate the diameter of each model in inch

Additional biographical information

When I'm not teaching, I'm creating... I love sewing, scrapbooking, photography, home decorating, and designing new math and science lessons. Yes, that's right. Much of my "free time" is spent "working". But it's hard to think of it as work when it's what I LOVE so much!
