It's Raining Resources

This is a Smartboard file to be used while reading The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins. The file consists of 5 screens, each with an increasing number of plates (labeled with character names) that need to be filled with the 12 available cookies. The cookies can be moved onto the plates to help students see the concepts of division and multiplication.

Race to Zero is an independent math center designed to give students practice with double digit subtraction (and a little with addition of numbers less than 10). Students roll two dice, add the numbers on the dice together, and subtract that number from the number on their racetrack sheet. This is a Scoot activity designed to help children practice and master coin recognition. There are 26 Scoot cards. Each card has a photo of one coin. The coins shown are the fronts and backs of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, including state quarters, Lincoln pennies, and the Westward Journey nickels. None of the coins are repeated. There are two recording sheets included: one that has students write just the name of the coin, and one that requires the name and the value of the coin.

Trick or Treat is an independent math center focusing on three-digit subtraction across zero. The file contains a student direction sheet, 16 cards illustrated with costumed kids each with a three-digit number containing a zero, and 30 candy cards with three-digit numbers, and a two-sided reproducible recording sheet. Students pull a costume card and then trick or treat for a candy card. They subtract the candy card from the costume card!

This file contains colorful yellow flower petals to place around your classroom clock to help children with telling time. There are two sets of petals: one has just numbers preceded by a colon, and the other has the numbers along with the words to represent the time. There is also a stem and two leaves: one short one labeled hour, and one long one labeled minute. Gone Fishin' is an independent math center designed for students to practice two-digit subtraction. The file contains a student direction sheet and two sets of pond and fish cards. One set of pond and fish cards contains numbers that can be subtracted without regrouping, while the other set of cards contains numbers that must be regrouped in order to arrive at the correct answer.

Scoots are a fun way to gets students up and moving while practicing and assessing important concepts. This file contains 2 place value scoots. Each scoot contains 26 task cards (the first set is just tens and ones, the second set has ones, tens, and hundreds), directions on how to scoot, a student record sheet, and the answers to the task cards. This file is an idependent math center in which students practice two or three digit addition. The center consists of a student instruction sheet and aliens with numbers on their bellies. Students pull two aliens, write the addition problem, and solve. The file contains four seperate sheets of aliens: one set for two-digit with regrouping, one set for two-digit without regrouping, one set for three-digit with regrouping, and one set for three-digit without regrouping.

File contains ten worksheets. Worksheets have from ten to fourteen double-digit addition problems. Five of the worksheets have problems that require regrouping, and five have problems that require no regrouping. There is an answer key for each worksheet. Students will solve the math problems to find the answer to a silly riddle on each worksheet.

Shake It Up! is an independent math center designed to give students practice in recognizing the value of a given digit through the thousands place. Using 4 dice (that you provide), the student will create a four digit number. They will underline a specific number, and determine the value of that number using their knowledge of place value. The center includes a student direction sheet and a reproducible to keep students accountable.

To complete the mystery picture, students will answers questions concerning place value, patterning, skip counting, even/odd numbers, and addition and subtraction. They will fill in the answers to the questions on the hundreds chart. If they answer the questions correctly, it will make a picture of a package with a bow. Kid-tested, and kid-approved for math practice and review while becoming more familiar with the hundreds chart!

Sushi Graphing is an independent math center designed to help students practice making a pictograph. The center includes 36 sushi picture cards: 4 California Rolls, 6 Tuna Sushi, 8 Salmon Sushi, 6 Roe Rolls, 2 Egg Sushi, and 10 Shrimp Sushi. It also includes 7 sushi information cards, a student direction sheet, and a double-sided reproducible student record sheet. Students will have great fun sorting the sushi pictures, making the pictograph, and learning more about this fascinating and tasty
