This project covers parallel lines cut by a transversal. Students utilized their knowledge of Angle Relationships to create a town. Students are the mayor of a new town. As part of their job, they have to name the town, the streets (the lines), and the properties at each intersection. Once they choose the names for each property, they have to apply Angle Relationships to accurately place them on the town map. They then design the town by drawing the locations and coloring. Students are given 4 word problems related to hosting a party. They are given a fee and cost per person. They use this information to create the linear equation that represents the word problem. They utilize the equation to evaluate based on the number of guests. They then use the information to fill in the table and graph that represent the word problem.
Students will use their knowledge of the angle relationships created by parallel lines cut by a transversal to label the angles with the correct icons based on the instructions.
