For the students that just don't seem to be getting it. Sometimes teaching the tricks are the best way for them. These are ideas that I have used throughout my teaching that have actually worked.
A selection of reflection Cards that can be used multiple ways. *place one on the board at the beginning of the lesson so the students know what they are going to reflect on *ask a student to draw a card to choose reflection question *display in the class to assist students when reflecting *many more uses
Simple bingo game. Numbers 1-9. Roll the dice or pick a card double the number and add one more. First to get three in a row wins. Six different boards.
A fun way to introduce informal measurements. Have students measure multiple items in the room. From here you can sort, add, etc. Pack includes 2 pages. One blank so you can personalise the objects and the other filled with pretty common items.
