This Reader's Theatre is adapted from Arnold Nobel's "Frog and Toad All Year" chapter titled "The Corner." I used this as a supplemental activity for the week we read the story from the Harcourt Trophies series, but could be used independently. I created this for 5 students: Frog, Toad, and 3 narrators. My writing curriculum is using the "Four Square Model" for organizing paragraph writing. That can be a tall task for a little mind! I created this organizer to help with that process- which can take up to a week for a first grader. I use this assessment for our weekly timed math fact quiz. It includes 50 basic facts with addends under 10. I time them for 3 minutes and they keep track of their progress in their data notebook.

Students will glue down the tabs of the flaps on their notebook or paper, and use the included manipulative pieces to model and label their problem under the flap.
