Directed Readings are guided questions that are to be completed as students read through the lesson. When graded a class discussion on the lesson is given, during this time students use a marker or colored pencils to write in or add to existing answers. This is a hands-on project that allows students to be ultra-creative. As the teacher preps this lesson by having students bring in old toys, household items, and just useful "junk" they have around. It would be helpful for the teacher to search thrift stores and yard sales for cheap junk as well. Students will exceed your expectations every time! Be sure to have hot glue guns and sticks on hand as they become useful tools for groups.
