Fun activity for students to be creative and create their own tessellation's. I give each group a small bucket of pattern block shapes and the square template included. I have had so many amazing creations!
Use all 4 quadrants of the coordinate plane to graph the logo of SUPERMAN!
Includes:
-Directions page with coordinates
-page with outline of logo
-page of colored finished logo
-numbered graph paper and unnumbered graph paper
Using angle relationships (comp/sup/vertical) with solving equations.
"Use facts about complementary, supplementary, vertical and adjacent angles in a multi-step problem to write and solve equations for and unknown angle in a figure."
Task for students. Includes making table, plotting coordinates, finding unit in table and on graph, finding equation and then using table graph or equation for an extended quantity.
**Worksheet is horizontal layout even tho it shows it as vertical?
Foldable to help students understand the types of triangles and new CC standard.
**Rule: Is it a triangle? Students must recognize that the SUM of the two smaller sides of a triangle must be greater than the third side.
Room for examples and definitions.
Copy front to back for best results.
Use this fun project any time to asses or enhance your students learning of coordinates, ordered pairs, graphing in all four quadrants. (This can be modified for lower level learners using just one or two quadrants). Differentiate to fit your students need. You can email me for a PUBLISHER version after buying the PDF version if needed.
My kids LOVE the ability to be creative with this project!
We creative several leading up to this project so they are very comfortable with the instruction
Use all four quadrants of the coordinate plane to graph a deer. Your students will initially think "How easy!" and then quickly figure out that it is much harder than it looks!
We use this and others to lead into the Picto Creation Project (where they make their own).
Includes:
-page of coordinate with instructions
-outline sketch of what deer should look like on coordinate plane
-picture of colored deer on coordinate plane
-numbered graph paper for lower level learners
-unnumbered graph p
Use before circle unit to take notes. Bottom page; label parts of circle as shown. For use in INB.
Accompanying activity listed in other TpT items for sale under Circle Relationship Activity.
This activity allows students to explore how surface is found using the geometric nets to create a 3-D solid. Student explore how many edges, vertices and surfaces each shape has. Students then recognize what shapes the 3-D solid is made from and then come up with a plan on how to calculate the surface area. SHAPES: Rectangular Prism Cube Triangular Prism Pyramid
A classroom activity to show the relationship between circumference and diameter... getting to pi
