I use these sheets as a guide as the kids watch the TLC production of "The Revolutionary War" hosted by Charles Kuralt. The sheets help the kids to stay focused during the presentation and make them responsible for the information within. Has worked really well over the years.

I used these sheets in introducing types of sentences to my 5th graders. Once again I would allow the kids to partner up in order to allow them to discuss the writing and come to an agreement with their partner. Some of the sentences could be another type depending on the punctuation mark used or the way in which it is said. These made for some lively discussions.
