Have you ever thought that the Common Core State Standards were what you have always taught? I have and I have to admit that I was wrong. What these standards look like in the classroom is different than what I thought.
Now that I have actually used the standards and written Common Core curriculum simultaneously, I have a better understanding of what the CCSS really say between the lines. This presentation is what I learned from the Language standards and explains how much higher they are

Formative assessments are great ways to see if a student has achieved the skills needed to meet the CCSS. My students ended at or far above grade level in the language arts.
