Redo Slips

My grading policy includes opportunities to correct certain failed assignments for a 70 (not tests or quizzes) and some students' IEPs require such opportunities. Print these slips out on bright paper and staple to any assignment you want a student to correct. I require a parent signature in order to change the grade in my grade book because I want them to know when their child has failed an assignment. This also makes great documentation at meetings.

Input your student names and attach this to your supply of pencils. Every time you give a student a pencil, put an X in the box beside his/her name. You can easily see who is a "frequent flyer" and constantly coming to class unprepared. Provides a quick view to decide who needs a lecture on responsibility and who needs needs a note to go home asking for more pencils.

Use this note to collect a set of earbuds for your students. It's just more sanitary for every student to have his/her own pair of earbuds.

Experience

I'm a published, inspirational romance author who has taught elementary education for 8 years. My author website is www.jaynamorrow.com and my Christian romance novels are available there and at all major online retailers. My teaching journey began with a year in PreK, followed by 6 years in Kindergarten. Last year, I made the move to 4th grade and taught Reading and Texas Social Studies.

Teaching style

My teaching style is project-based and data-driven. As a professional writer, creativity is essential in my world. I love all things artsy and imaginative. I enjoy teaching my students using art projects and other creative methods.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I've had the honor of presenting at a Young Writers workshop with legendary children's author, John Archambault. Chicka, chicka, boom, BOOM! It's been a pleasure working with many talented authors over the years. I look forward to the release of my first children's book - Git Up You Lazy Cowboy - which is currently being illustrated and has been endorsed by the Sons of the Pioneers.

My own education history

I have a B.A. in English Literature from University of Texas at Tyler and Elementary Teaching Certification from Letourneau University.
