I have trouble finding elementary worksheets and notes that are geared toward beginning learners that are older. I was looking for simple math problems, but not condescending. So I’ve created my own worksheets. This is four pages. Two practice worksheets, one notes page and one blank number bond that can be laminated and used over and over.

6.NS.C Integer Introduction
Why wait until 6th grade for integers? A simple bar chart with positive and negative temperatures in Celsius is the introduction. I use this with students as young as 3rd grade. Students will get an early understanding of adding and subtracting integers. The is a low entry level with the focus on classroom discussions.
