Notes with examples if each- also included is basics like staff, measure, and time signatures. I have used this as a review for 6th-12th graders, depending on music knowledge level. A UEQ is a Unit Essential Question, and can be adapted to fit your lesson plan needs.

Experience
I've been a middle school music teacher since January 2003. One of those years, I split my time and also worked at the high school teaching a music course (Music A-Z) for non-musical students. Now, I teach general music and choir to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders and love it.
Teaching style
Student centered. There is information that you have to sometimes get up in front of the class and explain or demonstrate, but the more the kids are active, in mind and body, the better. I want them thinking and figuring out rather than me showing and them simply regurgitating. I also want them to create music every chance they get (except creating a rhythm on the desk while someone is speaking). Doing, listening, creating, performing- helps them learn it.
Awards & shining teacher moments
My choir is a Music in the Parks and Festival of Music ratings "Excellent" or "Superior" winner over multiple years, as well as
Espirit de Corp award winners for many of those years. We have performed at MLB games singing the National Anthem.
