EL Vocabulary - Farm Animals
This is a 2 week long lesson combining vocabulary, grammar and sentence frame focusing on farm animals. I have used this lesson to teach about a farm to my EL students. It includes animal names, plurals, babies, parts and jobs on a farm. The grammar lesson is correctly using has and had with singular and plural subjects.

Awards & shining teacher moments
I was asked to be part of a committee to adapt the Common Core Standards for the state of Arizona in 2010. This really helped me understand the standards and how they can be used in the classroom.
My own education history
I'm proud to say that I am a graduate of Indiana University. I also earned my Master's Degree in Reading, Writing and Literacy from a great program at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
