This is a guided reading note with related activities lesson unit I used along with other supplementals to teach parts of speech to my 7th and 8th grade self contained lang. arts class and I also used it as a review before the OAA's with my 7th and 8th grade inclusion kids during a test practice time we use called "Flex". It includes the answer key and you can either use it to spread throughout a week or so or however long you want to teach parts of speech or you can do it in a block period or o

I teach middle school special needs students and needed a book unit. I created this because all the supplementals I could find where too hard and unreadable for my students with special needs. So I created this comprehension question unit to involve short answer, essay question, and vocab related questions along with the ability to compare and contrast, make inferences, state and understand the theme and to be able to share opinions and support those opinions with facts/details. It has two previ

This is a divisibility lesson I do with my special needs students. It goes very well with the Schoolhouse rock videos on divisibility if you can stream them or have them on tape/DVD. These are guided reading notes I put on my smart board and have them fill in as I teach them the divisibility rules when I review multiplication and division with my students. It has an activity with it as well in which they are to fill i the missing boxed following divisibilty rules. I have them put the notes in th

This is a Unit that includes guided reading notes, a test and a supplemental activity on the Elements of a Story. It includes notes and definitions to be filled in on all of the elements of a story from character types to conflict to genre and much more. It is something I created to use with my students with special needs in a self contained upper middle school classroom. It was at there level but still relevant to the standards and still showed the high expectations I have for them. I also used

This is a guided reading note sheet I made for my 7th and 8th grade self contained special needs math class and for remediation for the students with special needs I see in the inclusive setting. It is formulated strictly following the Ohio extended core standards for students with disabilites. It is a great way to get my students to take notes on this unit and to be able to use later on activities, quizzes and tests. It is also a great starter for each time we learn a new formula for them to ge

These are guided reading notes I used for my 9th grade self contained special education room, along with the modified tests. I also used them with students who were in the regular education setting to use for reteaching and remediation. The resources we hard were to outdated and hard for some of the students so I created these for easier use for all of us. They are easily projected or printed out, or both.

Various forms for behavior tracking and reinforcement I have used for my students with special needs. I use the data I collect from these for FBA's and before I implement a behavior plan if need be. Also is a behavior recognition form for students to get as a consequence for an inappropriate behavior which helps them recognize what they did and what they can do next time. Lastly, I have a transitional vocabulary Assessment and data tracking form which I use and is very good for transition goals
