After 30 years in the classroom (all at the same school in Louisiana), I retired from teaching. I taught 1st grade for fifteen years and 2nd grade for fifteen years. I was the director of our summer camp for three years and worked both before and after school programs. I also worked as the web designer & manager and technology point person for our school.

Literacy and Math Workstation Student Checklist
I love using literacy and math workstations as a way for students to independently practice skills we cover in class. These quick and easy stations provide a multitude of activities from which students can choose, which allows for easy differentiation. To help my students keep track of their progress in workstations, I developed this one-page checklist. It gives the students space to check off the stations as they visit them. It also provides a behavior/work habit analysis for each day's station

Teaching style
I always ran an orderly classroom, but I also believe that students must be given responsibilities in order to learn how to be responsible. I used a mini-society in my classroom to help build a community of learners. I enjoyed using hands-on center activities to teach my students, instead of JUST a textbook. I differentiated instruction for both low- and high-performing students.

I have been married 30 years to my wonderful wife, Nancy. We have three awesome children who have grown up way too fast! We also have two very spoiled pups! I work as a remote travel agent for Disney and Sandals & Beaches Resorts.
