I am a qualified teacher in the UK and have taught for 13 years in both secondary and primary schools, spending most of those years in special educational needs. I am also a qualified specific learning difficulties teacher and for the last three years I have taught pupils on a one to one basis, specialising in working with pupils who have difficulties in maths, including dyscalculia and difficulties associated to dyslexia.

Scaling Up Problems
This presentation demonstrates how to structure problems by tabling information and using scaling. This method can work for a number of word problem including ratio questions.
It uses colour to link information and breaks down questions step by step, with explanation throughout. The presentation can be paused for students do calculations at each step. The questions become progressively more challenging throughout the presentation but the method remains the same.

Teaching style
I highly differentiate resources for the needs of each individual learner. I make resources that are kinesthetic and use games. I use lots of structured grids to support and guide learning.
