Experience

I have taught special education in a large urban school district since 1998. I have supported students grades K-12, as well as students learning English as a second language. I have experience as both a self-contained classroom teacher, as well as co-teaching with general education classroom teachers.

Teaching style

I have taught special ed since 1998, and have definitely discovered the need for high interest materials that appeal to and motivate new or lower ability readers. When students are excited about the subject, their learning comes so much more quickly and authentically. I am all about finding ways for students to learn joyfully.
