This is a short outline of the objectives and keywords (or vocabulary) for a unit on operations with signed numbers. Good for a teacher at any level to use when planning lessons. I have used these for students in grade school as well as those who are in remedial math at the community college level.

This assignment involves using the web to check out prices and layouts for tiles and for big screen TV's as part of a home improvement project. It is set up for a group of 2 but can be assigned to individuals. The answers provided may need updated as they are a few years old. Students find pricing for tiles and backing boards as well as investigate tiling with tessellations. They also investigate the best size TV for a specific space.
