About the store
I have been teaching sixth grade in San Bruno for seven years. For the first six years I was in a self-contained class at Crestmoor Elementary. I moved up to Parkside Middle School and now teach English, History and Genius Hour. I have worked hard to transition both schools to the digital word by implementing online tools for collaboration and communication. I have been a technology leader in the district and have taught various trainings for the teachers in the district. When I am not reading tween novels or building ancient Egyptian temples I can be found using one of several apple devices to find new hand-on lessons for my classes. I am serving my second term as the President of the San Bruno Education Association.

Instead of having set spelling homework give the students the option to pick the activities they want to do. This list doesn't have the needed number of points to get full credit so it can be adapted to any grade. There are 5, 10, 15, and 20 point activities to choose from. I make my sixth grade students do sixty points to get full credit. There are two versions of my contract. This version has spellingcity.com activity points. This is one of the several jobs I use for book club (Literature circles) in my class. In this job the student tracks either locations in the book or changes in a character. If you email me I will also provide you with a copy in google drive if you want to have your students do it digitally.

I put this handy little paper in the students interactive notebook to help them when they write. I find it helpful to have students revise and then edit their work. It also helps peer editors have more of a focus when I tell them to do one or the other. I know this page is all over the web but I'm a bit of a font snob so I thought I'd post this. :)

This is one of the several jobs I use for book club (Literature circles) in my class. In this job the student writes questions about the book. There are words and sentence starters that are leveled to Bloom's Taxonomy so the rigor of questions gets harder as you go. This can be used for many levels because as the student gets older they should be asking harder questions even though the frames are still the same. If you email me I will also provide you with a copy in google drive if you want to h

This is one of the several jobs I use for book club (Literature circles) in my class. In this job the student finds words they don't know and looks them up. They find the part of speech, synonyms, and share the location in the book. If you message me I will also provide you with a copy in google drive if you want to have your students do it digitally.
