The mean absolute deviation is not something my 6th graders get excited about learning. I try to make is easy as possible by providing them with tools such as this foldable. The foldable is also a great resource for students who miss class as it has step-by-step instructions on how to find the MAD.

This set of 18 task cards will help students practice mean absolute deviation. They are designed to be used in a small group setting (3 - 4 students in a group). A student response sheet and an answer key are included.
