This is a series of instructions to quickly get Geometry students through the proofs unit of the course. This set is intended for slower learners but all students would benefit from this series of lessons and assignments. There is emphasis on commonly used postulates, definitions and properties. The proofs are between 3 and 8 steps long and build on basic algebraic principles. Students are gradually introduced to proofs by first using properties in If-Then form, then seeing proofs with missi
This collection of assignments is a very straightforward, quick way to teach geometry students about circles. If you have very little time left before an End of Course Test and have not covered circles this would be helpful. There is a daily assignment for each of the first four days, a warm-up review for days two through five and a test for day five. Answers are included. Topics included: Diameter, radius, secant and tangent lines to circles, chord, minor arcs, major arcs, semicircles, meas
This collection is excellent for a slow learning class or if you must teach this material in a very short amount of time due to the amount of time you have left to teach before exam testing. It includes notes for student, teacher notes for use on a document camera or overhead projector, warm-up, and daily assignment each day for students. This is two days worth of assignments. The answer key for teacher notes and student assignments is included at the end. Topics covered: Identify opposite a
This is a 17 question study guide (some with a, b, c and d parts) and 27 question test for the first unit in a geometry course. I provide a copy of the study guide for each student and allow them time in class (about 30 minutes ) to work on it. I Topics included: Naming points, segments, lines, angles using symbols. Segment Addition and Angle Addition Postulates Applying the defintion of a midpoint, angle bisector. Identifying linear pairs and vertical angles. Using knowledge of linear pairs an
This is a collection of Warm-Ups, Worksheets, Activities and a Test for the parallel lines unit in a geometry class. These were created to be used in a slow learning class. There are NO proofs in this collection. Explanations of teaching exercises is included. Answer keys are included also. This is 7 days worth of material with 90 minute block classes. Topics: Identify parallel, perpendicular and skew lines in a cube. Identify Corresponding Angles, Alternate Interior, Alternate Exterior and

Teaching style
I like to try new things but I am realistic. The only way to survive as a teacher is to do things in the classroom that make the students work harder (often without realizing it!) but do not increase the workload of the teacher. Most of what you will find on my site are lessons and activities that follow this belief. I especially like finding ways to teach regular students advanced topics.
