About the store

Taught in both a large urban area and a rural coastal town in a low income area over the last 15 years. I teach foods and nutrition, family development, child psychology, culinary arts, ServSafe manager, and hospitality and tourism. I also worked for the Disney company for four years. I'm an advisor for culinary arts, customer service, and cake decorating for SkillsUSA and had students attend and win at nationals.

30 Days episode: Minimum Wage video notes

The TV show, "30 Days" can be a great tool for students to learn from situations. The one episode I especially appreciate is on minimum wage. All too often, I have students believe they can get by on just their part time job and the idea of working hard to complete high school is not a priority. I have made this short assignment for both federal minimum wage and Oregon's. If you live in a different state, all you have to do is change the state wage and your students should be able to understan

I used to work for the Disney Company for four years before working as a teacher. I have a great fondness for Disney to this day and LOVE to plan vacations for my family and friends.
