This is a fun project that has the students design and build their own Mars Rover. After learning about the other rovers on Mars, the students will be given "Mars Money" and they will build and design a rover. They will also decide what ten items they would take to Mars and they will keep a running expense sheet of what they have "purchased" in order to make their rover. This project puts together the measurement skills for students using cm, mm, and inches. After learning the basics of measurement you can use these included sheets to have students measure lines, measure lines in pictures, and to finally design a House of Measurement that they will design. I have included my sheets that you can copy to hand out, some sheets that you can have the students make (their hand to measure) and I have included the rubric, examples and a test if you need an assessment.
