Often students know most letter directions by first grade. However, it’s too uncommon for confusables to keep coming up! Place value is often confusing for students struggling in mathematics. A helpful resource is to remind students that a hundreds number must have 3 digits. Likewise, any tens number (which includes 20’s, 30’s, etc) must have 2 digits. A ones number is a single digit (which means 9 or less).
