If I had to have only one tool to use with my biology students, it would be this list of commonly used Latin and Greek prefixes and suffixes. I literally give this to my students each nine weeks and have them put it in their binder or science notebook to use as part of their glossary. If they can know the literal translation of many of the parts of words we use in science, they can figure out a majority of the vocabulary for the year. In order to help my students learn how to use their glossa
