Word Choice/Imagery/Diction Analysis & Creative Writing Worksheet
This resource is a great activity for students to practice analyzing diction/word choice. The worksheet is broken up into two parts: part 1 is Bloom's Taxonomy level 4: Analyze, and part 2 is Bloom's Taxonomy level 6: Create. Part 1 requires students to analyze the impact of word choice in examples of imagery quoted from popular novels. Students will consider the connotation of words/phrases, what the author's purpose was with the language, and the mood evoked from the language. Part 2 require

I graduated in 2013 from Elon University with a B.A. in English and Secondary Education. I received my National Board Teaching Certification in 2017 and renewed in 2022.
