Experience
I am in my ninth year of teaching. I've taught special needs music (pre-k to age 21), as well as elementary general music (grades 2-4) and middle school chorus and musical theater.
Teaching style
I focus on teaching my students to read music instead of just singing pretty songs. My students can identify I, IV, and V chords, all solfege (accidentals included), they can read rhythms in simple and compound time, and put it all together to sight read music. My students also learn the basics of composing and practice composing with their computers.
