I created this rubric to help students monitor their progress towards developing strong organizational skills. Students are able to set a goal and record if they reached the goal each week. Organization becomes increasingly important as students reach the upper grades and identifying specific components of how to stay organized while allowing students to do a self-check on these components weekly helps them internalize them.

This is a checklist for a poetry center to analyze a poem's syllables, tricky words, summarize it, and share with a partner.

These questions allow students to reflect on the week. They allow students to feel pride in achievements while making plans to improve for the week ahead. Done consistently, I have seen this help produce great results with students.
