About the store
I have been out teaching in the classroom in a multi age, multi ability setting in remote South Australia. In a particularly diverse room in 2015 (Kindergarten to Year 10), it occurred to me that teaching everything separately was simply not possible, so I developed a passion for Integrated Learning.
I have since been a Science Specialist for 3 years in a regional city in South Australia, and am now a Permanent Relief Teacher for 2020.
In 2022, I moved from Primary School to High School and absolutely love it. I also moved from public education to Catholic Education. These have been huge changes for me, but have re-invigorated my teaching and my resource creation.

Literature based Integrated Design & Tech Unit Plan
This is a fully integrated unit that encompasses Design & Technologies, Digital Technologies, English, HASS and Mathematics across a themed unit. It uses the Lynley Dodd "Hairy Maclairy" and "Slinky Malinki" books as a base. There are suggestions through the unit plan of how to incorporate learning from the books into all subject areas, and hints and tips of how to display your students' learning. Any area of this unit could also be taught as a stand alone area.
2nd - 5th

The Water Cycle - Year 2/3/4
A 9 week full unit plan for the water cycle at a Year 2/3/4 level. Includes parts of the water cycle and some small experiments/investigations to do. This unit plan also includes a 3 weeks STEM project, building a pipeline (after learning about how water travels).

The Aquarium Problem
An open ended maths problem solving activity. Students will figure out as many solutions as possible to "The Aquarium Problem". Fins, legs, arms and tentacles all make up a beautiful aquarium. Students glue the problem and information into their books, then come up with solutions that fit the problem's rules.

Length Pentathlon (super fun maths activity)
A length measuring pentathlon that includes some silly events to use in a mathematics classroom. Suitable for grades 3-10.

Viking Vessels - An Open Ended Maths Assignment
Viking Vessels is a viking-themed open ended maths assignment. It will be part of an Integrated Unit once that is finished. It can be completed individually or in pairs, and is a fantastic addition to a Viking themed study unit. Includes a grading rubric.

The Dragon Dilemma
An open ended mathematics problem solving assignment. I used this as part of a Medieval History integrated unit, but it is also a good stand alone maths activity. Highly engaging, and can be extended to include writing tasks.

Addition & Multiplication 5-In-A-Row Games Set
3 versions of a really simple adding or multiplying dice game. Print and laminate (or put into a plastic sleeve) for longevity. Great for developing subitising, quick fact recall and fluency with simple addition and multiplication (times tables). I've added a 3-Dice version of the Addition game to challenge those who need it. My own class actually used to argue over who got to play these during maths games time, so I ended up printing 15 copies so they all could play!

Addition 5-In-A-Row Game (2 Dice)
An easy game with minimal resources that is a fun way to practice subitising and simple addition (up to 12). There is some strategy involved of course, which students figure out as they play the game. Great for maths centres or for a fun maths lesson. Also great to leave for Relief Teachers if you are away. Teaching style
I love Integrated Learning as it makes learning so much deeper and more meaningful. I enjoy gamification of learning, and am currently improving my skills in Escape Rooms...keep an eye out for those!
I am firm in my expectations for behaviour, and have taught in a low socioeconomic area for the past 3 years with high percentages of trauma affected kids, poverty and social/emotional problems. This has challenged me deeply and at times made me question being a teacher. But...it has made me so much better than I ever thought possible.
While I still work in a lower SES area, being at a private school brings a different set of challenges. Also - now being a high school teacher, I get to specialise in the things I love - Maths and Science.

After spending 3 years as a Science Specialist teacher, my store has evolved to include a LOT of Science resources. They have all been used by me in a classroom situation. They have not been posted for sale unless they created some really great learning.
I am slowly uploading all the stuff I've created when there wasn't anything suitable out there for my needs. Everything is linked to the Australian Curriculum.
