Three different slope activities that start at the lower end of blooms and works the student up to the higher end of blooms. The first activity is a matching activity that focuses on the academic language of slope. The second activity has students filling in the equation for the line. The third activity requires the students to make a line graph with only the slope and a set of coordinate points.
This is a great lab activity to help students connect functions, slopes, linear equations, and graphing to the real world. Students will determine how many cups it takes to stack up to the desk. Students will use two cups and a ruler to determine the answer.
These are 5 tiered slope activities designed to allow students start and go through at their own level. Students start out having to identify slope and y-intercept, find the slope of a line, match a linear equation with its line, graph a linear equation, and graph a line from a set of points and a slope. I started students out at different activities and let them progress on their own time. For more information on how I taught this you can read all about it at https://keepingmathengaging.com/201

Experience
I am a current 7th grade teacher in the South Bend public schools. I graduated from Bowling Green State University.
Teaching style
Math doesn't have to be boring just because your students are older. I believe secondary math can have an elementary math foundation. Students can be engaged in math through interactive notebooks, math centers, and exploration activities.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Completed the ED TPA with a proficient score
My own education history
Graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2016 with a middle school education in math and science. I am currently working on my masters in curriculum and technology integration at BSU.
