This unit has lessons integrated within all areas of the curriculum. This unit touches areas in Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Health, etc. This unit included 22 lessons including how clouds are formed, thunderstorm safety posters, rainbow formation, wind, sunshine and much much more. I have included a resource page with websites and a materials page for what is needed for the unit. This was created for a Kindergarten class but could easily be adapted to first or second grade. This was an activity I did around Thanksgiving. I set up 5 stations around the room with fresh cranberries. Students explored the inside of cranberries, which ones are fresh, how many cranberries equals another object, etc. The only materials you will need is this packet for each student, about 2 bags of fresh cranberries and other materials you find around the classroom. My students really enjoyed this activity.

This could be used for any day you want to engage your students in a think tac toe. I am having my students complete this on the 100th day of school. They are to choose 3 activities to make a tic tac toe. The activities are leveled easier to more difficult by rows. This is a great differentiation activity to use with your class.

I give my students a time limit and all of the resources they need to answer all of the questions. I let them answer as many questions as they can in the allotted time limit. I let them work with a partner or by themselves if they choose. Questions include: Who was president 100 years ago? How long is 100 paperclips and how much do they weigh? etc.

I used these measurement cards for a game of scoot or pass. They could easily be put in a center or for early finishers.

This document is a great way for students to organize new vocabulary from a new unit of study. Students write the new word in the appropriate letter box. This way they can go back and refer to the new words when needed.
