We use this as a fun, educational way for 3rd graders to understand the new Food Guide Plate Guidelines and how to make healthy choices. We have students draw a slip of paper to designate their food group (Fruits, Vegetables, Healthy Protein, Whole Grain, and Dairy). Then we give them a paper plate and these directions and they have to make a food item that fits into their food group.
