❤️ These maths worksheets are fun and easy to follow. An excellent printable activity for children starting to progress from concrete counting using fingers or blocks to abstract maths ideas. Seeing numbers in terms of 'tens' 'ones' and 'hundreds'. Great for Distance Learning! ❤️ There are blank sheets for addition and subtraction and examples of equations to use with children, including visual cues. ❤️ These sheets can also be laminated or put in clear file pockets to be used over and o

Teaching style

I love to create fun and engaging resources for my struggling readers! Each resource I use has been created with my dyslexic students in mind. Often dyslexic students will need extra practice so my aim with each resource is to give my students opportunities to practice the skills we are learning together. I love to write my own decodable stories to align with a structured literacy scope and sequence and my students love these. I also am aware that our dyslexic students are working a lot harder than most so I will always have a structured literacy game ready to go. These games are also great practice but are fun and engaging to bring some much needed relief.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I recently have had one of my articles published in our national SPELD Journal. This was all about how our brains learn to read! What an honour! I have to say that one of my biggest accomplishments has been teaching my youngest daughter (who is dyslexic) how to read and spell!! I am so glad I got to be there for her in this way and now I get to help many other students just like her.

My own education history

Diploma of Teaching in NZ, SPELD NZ Level 5 Specialist Qualification (certificated to teach those with specific learning disabilities). Degree in Japanese language and Psychology.
