This is the paper that I used for Montana history. I asked every student to pick a different city in Montana. They had to research the city and answer these questions. Then, the kiddos read from this typed paper and gave an oral report about the city. You could use this for every other state, and just change the name. I used this in Kindergarten for a beginning review for five minutes as a review for what we taught the following week. It is based on the common core with boxes labeled accordingly. I did four days together and on the fifth day was a quiz. You can also use this for center work or homework. I used this on the Smartboard and the students completed this for one minute individually. Then, they worked in pairs. We went over this for a few minutes. Mainly, this is used as review.
This is the letter that I attach to the "About Me Bag" for an opening activity to get to know the students. I set the timer for 5 minutes for each child to share. I explain my expectations before we start.
