My kids love to play this game during math centers when we are learning about part, part, total/addition.
Copy star cards (on cardstock), laminate, and cut out. Students begin the activity with all of the star cards face down. One student will select two cards and flip them over. They will count the stars on each star card. The object of the game is to add the stars on the two cards together to get a total. The students can use the recording sheet on the top to record their answers. Copy the recording sheet front and back to make a possible math center last longer.
Star cards and recording sheet
This a fact family snowman. Students can pick three numbers to write in his hat, draw a face, and then write matching facts on the other parts of his body.
Students roll two dice together and cover the sum. Students will practice their basic addition skills in this center.
