This easy-to-use power point helps students understand base ten with numbers 10-20. The base ten blocks are added to the screen by clicking so students can count on (example 10--a ten rod, 11--a single unit is added, 12--another singe unit, etc.). Then the numbers indicating how many tens and how many ones are added each separately below the block representation. I have used this in my class and the students seem to enjoy it and grasp the difficult concept of base ten.

Here is a fun way for students to start to grasp base ten using a kinesthetic approach. We clap for every ten (since we have ten fingers) and for every one we count with our fingers.
