Literary Elements Poster (High Five Memory Method)

If you're trying to get your students to remember the literary elements this memory tool WORKS. Middle school aged students find it funny and engaging and high school students find it so cringy that they unintentionally memorize it anyway (I often tell my high-schoolers to think of it as an annoyingly catchy commercial jingle). This poster PDF can be printed and hung in the classroom, placed in a study packet, or put into a slideshow to act as a quick introduction or revisit of the elements.

Of Mice and Men Test (NYS Common Core Regents Prep)

This resource provides a two part reading comprehension test for John Steinbeck's, Of Mice and Men novel. It uses New York State regents style multiple choice questions and a Part III central idea analysis essay question. This resource is best used as an end of reading exam that is simultaneously a summative assessment of students understanding of the novel as well as a formative assessment of the skills they will need for the NYS Regents exam.

My own education history

I attended public school in downstate New York before attending SUNY College at Oneonta for my Bachelors in English and Education with a Minor in Dance. I then went on to attain my Masters in Education, with concentration in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, at the University College of London, in London England.
