Hello teachers, The 3 Read Strategy Protocol Anchor Chart and editable Graphic Organizer are great tools to help students solve real-life math stories. They give students a step-by-step guide to help them read and analyze word problems, making sure they know what the problem is asking. In this zip file, you will find two versions of the Protocol Anchor Charts and an editable Graphic Organizer.

This resource has three open-ended CGI math stories focused on rounding and measurements (milliliters, hours, and minutes). They provide multiple entry points for students to solve. Please note that the rounding component does not specify whether students need to round to the nearest tenth or hundred. Students should have the freedom and practice what they do best to round for real-life situations. The first CGI story is an introduction of the concept and does not contain an extension.

This resource contains 3 CGI Math Stories and they focus on 3.Nf.2 (Understand a fraction as a number on the number line; represent fractions on a number line diagram.) As we know, CGI allows flexible thinking, and students are welcome to solve math story beyonds their primary strategy. These 3 math stories come in differentiated versions with bold keywords and images.

This resource includes 4 open-ended CGI math stories. The first one is an introduction and it comes with a differentiated version. In the middle of the pdf file, it has a round of "Would you rather?" for students to engage in math talk. Open-ended Math Story provides multiple entry points for students to solve real-life problems.
