This PowerPoint file contains student notes for a unit on solving systems of equations. Lesson 1 covers how to determine if a point is a solution to a system and how solve by graphing. Lesson 2 covers solving using substitution. Lesson 3 covers solving using linear combinations (aka elimination). Lesson 4 covers how to decide the best method to use given systems with certain properties. Lesson 5 covers special cases of systems (no solution and infinitely many solutions). Lecture/Guided Practice. I like to introduce what we are doing, why we are doing it, how it connects to what we've been doing, and then do examples.
My own education history
I have a Bachelor's degree in Math Education and a Master's degree in Applied Math.
Additional biographical information
I have a youtube channel (www.youtube.com/c/kstevmath) where I've been posting math videos for my students for about 12 years now. Check it out and if you see a lesson that interests you and would like the powerpoint/notes to go with it, let me know!
