This Google slide presentation will introduce students to the African influence in Latin America with a focus on Mexico and Peru. It consists of 11 slides plus further readings slide and it is a detailed lesson. It has an aim, do now, lesson, active engagement, and work time. You can use this resource to talk about current events and/or Black history month. It is a great source to teach students about the term Afro-latino. Students will conduct a research project on the accomplishments and contributions of a notable Hispanic American. Students will choose two (group) or one (individual)  activity/activities listed on the choice board. There is a rubric attached that measures content, grammar, information, neatness and presentation. There is also a student checklist for students to complete before handing-in.
