This booklet is a project for students to complete either in class or at home over a period of time. It requires the students to research key facts and interesting pieces of information about St. Augustine. It is perfect for students who have or will be visiting St. Augustine on a field trip.
To be used in conjunction with the book This Is Just to Say: Poems of Apology and Forgiveness by Joyce Sidman. Step by step you will guide the students how to write an apology poem similar to those in this book. I typically have the students write their final poem on a blank white piece of paper which they illustrate. The pages then become our own classroom This is Just to Say book.
All you need is the minerals! This is a complete lesson plan with the PowerPoint, handouts, note taker sheets, and teacher instructions. Students will learn what minerals are as you walk them through the PowerPoint and they keep notes on their note takers. It includes an observation chart for them to complete as they make initial observations on their minerals. If you have a BrainPop account, there is a handout for them to work on based on a Brain Pop video. Finally, there is a chart where they
Students love to create things! This project is an independent project they can do at home (or you can adapt it for your classroom). It's perfect for Earth Day or a unit on recycling. Students will create an upcycled project based on the guidelines provided. They will write about it, and if you choose, present it to the class.
This is a few pages with clear expectations for students who are doing a science project report - for a science fair or other science project. It's in Word format, so you can change it as needed for your classroom.
I love this and have used it every year I have taught and every week. Each Friday, the students complete a weekly progress report. They rate themselves in the categories of Classwork/Homework and Behavior. In terms of work, they write about if they completed it; the effort they put into it; and comment on how they can improve or maintain good work. I read each one, place a check mark in the box if I agree, and may make a comment on the bottom. Students take it home on Friday, have a parent/gu
Students love talking about the books they are reading! Here's a way to help them display what they are reading and also make recommendations to other students (or to you!). Students will create a half page book commercial/review about the book they are reading, which you can post on a bulletin board, on your door, or anywhere around the classroom or hallway. These are clear guidelines, plus an example, for your display to the class, so they can create their own.
If you use Plickers (https://www.plickers.com) in your class, this is a few instructions to project as you introduce how to use them to your students. After I print out the cards, I write their student number in pencil on the back, so they always choose the same and correct one.
