This handout is meant to help students understand the purpose and structure of a thesis and how it connects to their evidence in the argument they're making about a text or texts. The front explains what a thesis is, with examples, and the back includes space for essay prompts and brainstorming, as well as suggested conjunctions/transition words to incorporate into the thesis. This handout goes with my essay graphic organizer/outline.

A half-page activity form for students to introduce themselves that allows them to be creative and to connect their interests with literature. It also will help you create a seating chart! You can fit four onto a landscape 8 x 11 page, if necessary, to print four at a time.
