This is a four-paragraph, four-page graphic organizer/outline for students to use to write their first draft of an essay. It has space for prompts and several reminders throughout about what to do for each sentence and each paragraph, as well as several sentence starter options. There is an introduction paragraph, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion - this could be easily modified to be longer or shorter. This is meant to go with my thesis statement handout.

This handout is meant to help students understand the purpose and structure of a thesis and how it connects to their evidence in the argument they're making about a text or texts. The front explains what a thesis is, with examples, and the back includes space for essay prompts and brainstorming, as well as suggested conjunctions/transition words to incorporate into the thesis. This handout goes with my essay graphic organizer/outline.
