La Bandera Mexicana - The Mexican Flag: Meaning and History includes a lengthy history of the flag, and the symbols and meanings then and now, including how the Aztec Empire and Mexican's quest for independence influenced the symbolism of the flag. Also included are comprehension questions, a large flag that is labeled (in Spanish) for coloring, and a stanza of Mexico's National Anthem. A great activity for Mexico's Independence Day or addition to a unit on Mexico.
This is an article about January in Puerto Rico. Specifically, the article describes the traditions of New Year's Eve on the island and tells how Three Kings' Day is celebrated. Also included is a recipe for a Three Kings' Day dessert, and comprehension questions. There is a writing activity as well.
