Students are getting restless and craving summer. Therefore, why don't we give them a little fun?! Here are some beach nouns that students can learn or review. Students can answer the prepositional phrases while answering WHERE while looking at beach pictures. In here you will have some irregular plurals, regular plurals, ect. By the end of this powerpoint you will want to back your bags and head for the beach!
Thanksgiving: Communication is about being able to answer questions, comment, and have relevant ideas with a partner. Use this power-point and have students answer questions and comment about thanksgiving. It is current with pictures of cartoons and people they see daily. You can get a lot of language out of this activity and get to know your students better! Enjoy!

This activity uses practical thinking and asks students to perform the functional activity of packing. Students are required to know what they should bring to the beach. It also works on skills such as; categorizing, sequencing, and more. This activity would be good if used with actual beach bag and the items. Students will put the items in the bag as you go through the activity!

There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Trout story has a bunch of animals that students may not know too much about. This story shows the actual pictures of the animals with a fact of each of them. This activity targets prepositional phrases when answering WHERE questions. Enjoy this activity while looking at some beautiful spring pictures.
Look into the different types of birds. Have your students observe them and learn about them with a visual slideshow. The slideshow gives facts about the birds and at the end there is a quiz. Post lesson, take students for a walk or look out the window to note the birds they see. You could even create a bird feeder! Students can create a graph to see which birds they saw the most or the least.
How are leaves different; type, color, shape, size? Have your students look at beautiful leaves while discussing how they are different. If the weather permits; collect the leaves on a nature walk with your students. If not, bring some in- FREE lesson! There is a post arts and craft activity for this. All you need is paper, paint and leaves. Beautiful and fun activity to learn adjectives! (Great on a smart board or your computer)

I like this for several reasons. It is nice for a conversation piece for pragmatics. You can work on WHY questions, turn taking, getting to the main idea and vocabulary. It is truly good for any age because students can express their opinions. It is visually appealing and relaxing.
