This is a great activity when wanting to create an interactive center for social studies and literacy. Read a book about Ellis Island or an immigrants recount of their experience coming to America. Then have students scan this QR code and answer the questions that follow. The video is quite long, but I have taken the time to watch the first 5 minute and create original questions that are increasingly difficult. The Scholastic video is linked to the QR code, so it is simply a quick way to acc
When learning about advertising or persuasive writing, this would be a great activity for some learning centers. You can find lots of commercials on YouTube that use a variety of techniques and are appropriate for school. As the students watch the commercials, they can use their background knowledge to select the techniques used.
You would need to teach what each technique would look like, then model this lesson as a whole group with an example commercial.
This great interactive science packet comes with a decorative cover page, all 9 custom QR codes with facts & labels, and a correlating activity/worksheet for students to complete. This activity not only using higher order thinking skills, but is fun too! A great visual aid is to cut and paste the QR codes onto a larger image of a skeleton so that

This great packet includes directions, examples, a colorful poster, and activity sheet for student to work on. It's a great idea to have students write down the idioms used and explain them in their own words to demonstrate understanding. This directly aligns to Common Core Standards for mutliple grade levels.
