This is a handout for parents to give them ideas on how they can help their child in math and reading. Most parents do not realize that a simple trip to the grocery store can be a whole day teaching/learning experience for a child.
Look for this handout in Spanish too!
"Cosas que puedes hacer en casa para aumentar el progreso en Matemáticas y Lectura"
Cosas que puedes hacer en casa para aumentar el progreso en Matemáticas y Lectura
(Things you can do at home to increase progress in mathematics and reading.) This was written to help parents get more involved with their child's learning. This is the Spanish version of my "Things you can do at home to increase progress in mathematics and reading".
I read "If you were a polygon..." and then used these worksheets as a mini assessment of polygons. It is tiered into two groups: high and low.
The second two pages were used to assess knowledge of polygons as well, but the students were using straws and pipe cleaners to create the polygons.
Kids have fun problem solving with this Halloween tic tac toe game
Cut out the ghost and pumpkin clip arts and use them as the tic tac toe pieces. I laminated all of the pieces, including the game board so that I will have them forever.
I used this assessment to test my student's ability to write, count to and identify the numbers 1-30. I also included a section to write the numbers that come before or after a given number.
I use these with my daily math wall activities. They go along with my calendar routine. I laminate them and velcro them so the kids can manipulate them each day. They are used to fill in the sentences:
Yesterday was __________.
Today is __________.
Tomorrow will be ___________.
